STARLUX Business Class Amenity Kit
A Business Class amenity kit bringing THREE’s philosophy of natural simplicity to STARLUX’s premium cabin experience.
Context
As Design Lead at WESSCO International, I led the design and development of STARLUX Airlines’ Business Class amenity kit in collaboration with THREE, the Japanese natural skincare and lifestyle brand.
The project brought together STARLUX’s contemporary premium identity and THREE’s understated approach to beauty and wellbeing. The objective was to create a reusable amenity kit that reflected both brands through simple forms, natural materials, and thoughtful functionality.
Challenge
The challenge was creating a product that balanced practicality with quiet luxury.
The amenity kit needed to communicate THREE’s minimalist design philosophy while meeting the functional requirements of airline service. Every detail, from materials and colour to construction and usability, needed to feel considered without becoming overly decorative.
Our Approach
Translating the Brand
Working closely with STARLUX and THREE, I developed a product that reflected the brand’s calm, understated aesthetic through natural materials, muted colours, and restrained detailing.
Designing for Everyday Use
The final design features a sand-coloured cotton canvas hanging bag with a three-sided zipper that allows it to open fully and lay flat. The structure was designed for ease of use during travel while remaining practical for continued use after the flight.
Creating a Cohesive Wellness Experience
The bag was paired with THREE’s signature skincare products, including an overnight oil serum, stem moisturizer, and lip balm, creating a premium amenity experience centred around wellbeing.
Sampling and Refinement
Working with WESSCO’s sourcing teams and manufacturing partners, I refined materials, construction, colours, and finishes through multiple rounds of sampling before production.
